The Sharks

People have been fascinated, and terrified by these supreme beasts. Before we judge them as viceous violent killers, let us have a genuine look at what these ancients fish are about.

Here Micheal Scholl displays a technique that somehow puts the shark into a temporary trance. It is said that the shark has a very sensitive nose and when Micheal touch it, the shark reacts by reaching up. We do not recomend that you try this.

The Great White shark is perfectly designed for the sea. They swim effortlessly and can move up to 60 km/h when hunting. Their main source of food are abundant supplies of seals, situated along the Western Cape coast. They do know the difference between humans and seals, and avoids humans most of the time. It is thought that only young Great Whites are known to bother humans. When they mature, however, they are driven by instinct to hunt seals.

An interesting phenomenon is what we call a breach. This happens when a Great White Shark swims from below and attacks its prey by swimming up and biting the seal. The shark ends up out of the water. This an amazing display
