Throughout the years people from outside
Africa have grown up with a misconception of this continent. Rumors
have been rife and have become more intense resulting in distorted
views, especially of South Africa. Most of this was in the name of
news. This one-sided view has unfortunately scared off many potential
visitors to this beautiful country, depriving many of them of an unforgettable
experience.
Madiakgama lies in the heart of the North-West province of South
Africa and is an enjoyable four-hour drive from Johannesburg International Airport.
Its 20 000 acres (about 8 000 ha) of unspoiled African bushveld supply any hunter
with one of the richest hunting grounds in Southern Africa.
Although the surrounding wildlife reminds one of Texas, the climate
is a pleasant surprise. Temperatures during the main hunting season range from
the low thirties (0° C) in the morning to mid-seventies (24° C) during
the day.
Bow-hunting is a family sport, and even if your wife doesn’t
hunt, she will enjoy seeing the wild life environment. Madiakgama
can be a tremendous place for a family to visit. It has a great atmosphere,
is a safe place to be and, as far as educational experience for young
people is concerned, it is difficult to beat, say visitors from abroad.
The Taljaard team
The driving force behind the success of Madiakgama is a committed
team of four - Jimmy, Linda, their son, Jacque and daughter, Janeline
- qualified bow-hunters with years of experience. Inspired by their
concerted love for the land, they have established Madiakgama as the
best bow-hunting ranch in South Africa.
We adhere to our promise of exclusivity
and elegance in two air-conditioned bedrooms with private bathrooms and a fully
equipped kitchen. All chalets are situated a short walk from the main lodge where
three meals are prepared each day.
The ranch can cater for 16 visitors at a time, including services
ranging from laundry to personal care.
Be prepared for a feast every night. We will serve
you with the most appetizing meals, including typical South African
cuisine. As the sun sets in an avalanche of colour, you can review
the splendor of the day with a drink at the bar. If you are still
full of energy, consider enjoying a game of pool. But don’t
forget to lend your ears to the tales of this land, as it will provide
a better understanding of your personal experience.
