Hlosi Game Lodge is situated in the magnificent Amakhala Game Reserve, just a 40 minute drive from the Eastern Cape coastal city of Port Elizabeth in the heart of malaria-free game country adjacent to the famous Garden Route. Transfers can be arranged from the Port Elizabeth airport.
Your choice may be to while away tranquil moments in the intimacy of the lounge or gaze over open grass lands from the sala. Spacious suites carefully designed to capture the spirit of a bygone era, provide all of the luxuries of contemporary lodge living.
Each suite features mini bar, air conditioning, under floor heating and full ensuite bathroom, the spacious jet bath provides relaxing guests with spectacular vistas of the surrounding bushveld.
Renowned for the creation of fine, intimate guest experiences, owners Wil and Sharon Van Duyn have perfected the art of creating a myriad of special moments. From laughter filled alfresco lunches at a bushveld pool, elaborate bush picnics, and casual candlelit dinners served on your private verandah, to the best of local produce in silver & white in the formal dining room.
The reserve is approximately 6000 Ha in size and encompasses some of the most breathtaking topographical diversity found in the region. The Bushmans River meanders through the reserve and is fed by numerous densely vegetated valleys. The intermittent plains provide ideal cheetah country and it is easy to see why with numerous antelope species in abundance.
Activities at Hlosi are centred around close encounters with Africas big game, safaris take place in the early morning and late afternoon / evening, The reserve is home to rhino, buffalo, elephant, cheetah and over 14 species of antelope.
Situated in the Bushmans River Conservancy, access to the lodge is by road, 70 km's along the N2 from Port Elizabeth towards Grahamstown before turning right onto the R342 (Alexandria / Karel Landman Rd).
Guests will be met at the Bushmans River Conservancy / Hlosi reception before being transferred to the lodge. Traveling time to the lodge from Port Elizabeth Airport is approximately 45 minutes. Guests flying to Port Elizabeth Airport can be transferred to and from the lodge. collected at the airport by their ranger, the reserve begins less than 45 minutes from the airport.
Please take note of the following terms and conditions
A 20% deposit will be required to confirm a booking with full payment due 7 days prior to arrival.
Bookings cancelled 45 days prior to arrival will forfeit their deposit.
Bookings cancelled 30 days prior to arrival will incur a 50% cancellation fee.
Bookings cancelled 14 days prior to arrival will incur a 100% cancellation fee.
Please note that guests will be required to sign an indemnity form on arrival.
Children will be permitted on game drives and walks at the sole discretion of the ranger
