Set in the splendour of the malaria free Eastern Cape, within the heart of Frontier Country, this untouched wilderness boasts a past as rich as its abundant wildlife population.

Kwantu provides the ideal setting, venue and surrounding scenery to make the conference even more memorable and different. What could be more special than a wedding out on the Sidbury Plains, where every guest enjoys the exotic African and Asian cuisine, of the highest standard, prepared by the executive chef.  Provisions for that memorable event are easily made available with us. Up to 120 guests may be invited, and we assure you that your special day will be one to remember forever, at Kwantu.

The conference venue offers top class, full digital and multimedia equipment suited to any and every occasion. A dedicated lounge is furnished with attractive, comfortable couches for between-lecture relaxation.

Up to 100 delegates can be seated cinema-style and 60 lecture-room style. Make your next conference one where each of your delegates will enjoy the absolute in luxury.  Special occasions such as weddings, are usually best set in a spectacular surrounding and environment, where the events, guests and memories are ones that will last for a lifetime.

Naturally merged into the pristine landscape, each lodge exudes a traditional African charm with all the modern comforts and complete privacy, surrounded by the mesmerizing sounds and fragrances of the beautiful bush. Visitors to Kwantu Private Game Reserve will be able to enjoy the splendour of the African wilderness without the risk of malaria.

Kwantu’s luxury lodges, each with double-bedroom and en suite bathroom, open on to personal decks, ensuring complete peace and privacy, overlooking a tranquil dam where some of our hippo's have made their new home.

Towering above the natural splendour and wonder of God’s gift, each of Kwantu’s exquisite suites, are equipped with: a charming fireplace, under-floor heating, air-conditioning, multi-channel television, electronic safe, refrigerator, hairdryer, tea-coffee making facilities as well as a therapeutic Spa.

The cuisine is prepared according to high standards, including meeting strict Halaal requirements and caters for guests with various food intolerances. Herbs used are freshly picked from the gardens at Kwantu.

Aptly named “The Place of Gathering”, Kwantu is where animals, birds, plants and people gather in harmony, as nature intended. Game Drives at Kwantu are an experience bar none. 

You’ll be awestruck by our rich collection of zebra, giraffe, wildebeest and many of the common and rarer antelope who have roamed these plains for centuries.

With over 250 different species of birds to serenade and dazzle you, the Kwantu bush is an orchestra of sounds, colour and form that even the novice bird lover will marvel at...

Indulge your fascination as you stumble upon a family of warthog, digging for roots or speeding across the lawns with their trademark “tails held high”.  From the delicate solitary duiker that melts out of the brush at the edge of a clearing, to the towering kudu bull who fixes his gaze on you as he browses nearby, each of these bushveld citizens has a special character and appeal of its very own.

At night the porcupine, aardwolf, lynx and other nocturnal explorers and predators patrol the silent, inky darkness. The adventurous visitor may even be treated to the thrilling
sight of a leopard.

At Kwantu Private Game Reserve, we are committed to Breeding and Conservation, hence our successful Rehabilitation programme for wounded animals of the wild. We are proud of our animals, birds, and plants and we invite you to enjoy them with us.    Day Visitors to Kwantu can choose to enjoy a morning game drive, starting at 09h00, followed by luncheon, or an afternoon game drive, starting at 14h00, followed by dinner and a show of cultural Xhosa dancers. There is also a walking safari where two experienced rangers accompany the guests.
