in classically finished luxury. The suites all have 1 bedroom, en-suite bathroom,
separate lounge and balcony. Options are sea view suite, twin bed twin suite,
with air-conditioning, Ambassador suites with jacuzzi, or the double

Aquarium & Whale Watch Deck

This is the oldest aquarium in the country with a variety of fresh water and
marine species. Seal show twice daily at 11.30am and 3.30pm. Feeding times:
10.30am and 3pm. Open 9am to 5pm.

German Settlers Memorial
Esplanade.
Commemorates the 1858/9 arrival of more than 2000 German men, women and children,
which helped expand the settlement. Designed and sculptured by Lippy Lipschitz.
Lock Street Goal Shopping Complex
Fleet Street
Formerly a prison, built in the 1800's and South Africa's first women's gaol.
This goal housed persons such as Winnie Madikizela-Mandela (ex-wife of Nelson
Mandela) and Daisy de Melker, who was accused of poisoning two husbands and
a son. The original gallows can still be seen. It is now home to shops and
offices.

Visit the Whale Deck on the Esplanade situated at the Aquarium for a spectacular
view. A telescope on the Deck makes it easy to spot any movement in the waters
(a blue flag flies when whales are sighted).
The Orient Beach Complex

Pay beach and kiddies' pools. Stroll along the Orient Pier and visit the Water
Tube (open in summer months). Open daily between 1 November - 30 April from
7am to 5pm and the 1 May - 31 October from 8am to 5pm.

Wonderful adventure into the past. Best known as the home of the Coelacanth.
Stunning shipwreck and paeleantological sections. The museum also has an excellent
display of the rich and colourful Xhosa culture and some of the best examples
of beadwork in the country. Coffee shop on premises.

11am to 4pm.
