Tours & Safaris
Soweto/Apartheids Museum: A Quick glimpse of Joburg as we explore the city highlights and makes our way towards Soweto, South Africa’s largest township, with over 3 million inhabitants. Take a drive by the houses of Winnie Mandela, Bishop Desmond Tutu and the ever-popular Nelson Mandela. The tour includes a visit to a community project in one of Soweto’s many squatter camps and experience first hand what life in Soweto and urban townships are all about.
Pretoria City Tour:
The administrative capital of South Africa, also known as “the Jakaranda City” offers a array of visitor attractions and facilities. We take you on a tour to explore the past and share the present cosmopolitan blend of the rainbow nation. The tour includes visits to The Voortrekker monument, Kruger House, Church Square and the Union Building.
Sun City:
Sun City, also known as South Africa’s kingdom of pleasure is conveniently located about 2 hours drive outside Johannesburg, in the North West province. This internationally renowned holiday resort offers a vast array of activities and attractions that will appeal to even the most divergent of tastes. Activities and attractions range from luxury hotels, a casino and entertainment centre for those trying out their luck and outdoor activities such as gholf and watersports for the more adventurous.
Pilanesberg:
Pilanesberg National Park is set in eroded remains of a 1,2 billion year old volcanic crater. The Park, which covers some 55 000 hectare, is the fourth largest game reserve in Southern Africa and is situated about 180km northwest of Pretoria. This malaria free park plays host to 360 bird species, the nocturnal brown hyena, cheetah, hippo, crocodile and the much sought after “Big 5”.
Combination Sun City/Pilanesburg:
A one-night getaway in the fourth largest game reserve in South Africa. We leave Pretoria as the sun rises and begin our journey to the North Western province. Lunch is served in the park, where after we begin our search for the much sought after “Big five”. A traditional dinner is enjoyed around an African log fire as we listen to the sounds of the night. On the second day, we rise early to depart on the morning game drive, after which we return to the camp for breakfast.
After breakfast, we are off to Sun City – “South Africa’s Kingdom of Pleasure”. The day is spent lying around in the sun and just relaxing after which we return home to Pretoria.
Ndebele Village (including lunch):
We head towards Kwandebele, former homeland of the Ndebele. This traditional village with its hospitable people will take you on an unforgettable journey into the Ndebele culture and its various traditions and striking architecture. We enjoy lunch at a traditional restaurant where after we visit the Ndebele Foundation of Fransina Ndimande and the homestead of Esther Malangu. Clients are also offered the opportunity to stay overnight at the village to gain an even deeper insight into the art and lives of the Ndebele people. (Overnight packages available on request).
Lesedi Cultural Experience:
Lesedi is a multi-cultural village set amongst the pristine bushveld and rocky hills less than an hour’s drive north of Johannesburg. This is a unique opportunity to experience the vibrant and colourful traditions of the Basotho, Ndebele, Pedi , Xhosa and Zulu people. The evening starts with an interactive video and dance session depicting the history, culture, myths and legends of five traditional cultural groups of South Africa.
Cullinan Diamond Mine:
This mine has produced some of the world’s largest high quality gem stones. The tour is surface based and offer a insight into diamond production.
De Wildt Cheetah Centre:
Nestled in the foothills of the Magaliesberg, conveniently close to Johannesburg and Pretoria, lies the De Wildt Cheetah and Wildlife centre. De Wildt is a research and breeding centre that is renowned for its success in breeding rare and endangered species. This is an unforgettable conservation experience, where you will have the chance to see animals like the rare king cheetah, wild dog and Brown Hyena up close. The tour includes a open vehicle game drive, where you will be accompanied by a knowledgeable guide.
Rhino and Lion Park:
Just 30 minutes Northwest of Johannesburg, set in the beautiful Kromdraai Conservancy, lies the Rhino and Lion Nature Reserve. This haven, which will help you escape the hustle and bustle of the city, boasts game species like White Rhino, Hippo, Lions, Siberian and Bengal Tigers, Cheetah, Wild dogs and more than twenty species of game. Game drives with experienced Satour registered guides, allows visitors to experience the wildlife close up, and on a night drive the fascinating nocturnal habits of animals can be observed.
Sterkfontein Caves:
Found in a dolomite hill in the Isaac Stegman Nature Reserve, this is the site of the famous Mrs. Ples (Plesianthropus Transvaalenis) discovered by Dr Robert Broom, who once described this as the anthropological treasure house of the world. One hour guided tours are conducted on the half hour from Tuesday to Sunday. Our museum houses some of the fossils found in the cave, and refreshments may be purchased from close by.

A combination of the Sterkfontein Caves and the Lion and Rhino Park can be arranged on request.
