The bathrooms have an extensive range of guest amenities and the rooms are stocked with fresh flowers, spring water, fresh fruit and homemade biscuits daily. The Suites and Premier rooms have log-burning fireplaces where one can snuggle up on a chilly winter's night after a perfect day.

As a recipient of the coveted Chaîne de Rôtisseurs blazon, fine wining and dining is a daily occurrence at the Coach House! Renowned for the finest breakfast in the country, there is no better place to enjoy this than on the verandah overlooking the pool, which offers spectacular views of the northern Drakensberg Mountains.

Feast on a stunning full buffet of fruit, yoghurt, cereals, cold meats, smoked salmon, cheeses, homemade breads and pastries and many more mouth-watering delights. A variety of delicious cooked breakfasts is available daily.

The chef and his team specialise in preparing exceptionally good food! They use only the freshest seasonal ingredients, most of which are sourced locally, like the Lunsklip River trout, Bonsmara beef, and sub-tropical fruits and nuts. Tantalize your taste buds with mouth-watering lunches and candle-lit dinners from the à la carte menu in the Zeederberg Restaurant where vegetarian and special dietary requirements are easily catered for on request. The sumptuous Sunday buffet lunch is a festive affair with an array of delicious, carefully prepared dishes to please everyone.

The Coach House is also renowned for its charming fine wine cellar, The Broken Anvil, which stores an impressive 8000 bottles comprising 200 local and imported wines to please every palate and pocket. Platinum winner of the Diners Club International 2002 Wine List of the Year, the Broken Anvil will delight any discerning wine lover with its impressive wine list. Choice wines from the cellar complement our chef’s fine food. The cellar is available for private functions of up to 40 guests.

Enjoy a pre-dinner aperitif in the historic and atmospheric John Buchan Bar or stargaze in wonder at the crystal clear skies out on the verandah whilst sipping an exotic cocktail. After dinner, relax in front of the log fire in the comfort of the gracious Serala lounge and peruse one of our many coffee table books.

Guests staying at the hotel have complimentary unlimited use of the steam rooms, saunas, gymnasium and hydro jet heated pool. Explore the fifteen hectares of enchanting beautiful garden surrounding the hotel. An eclectic collection of indigenous and exotic plants and trees has been assembled to provide one of the most interesting and well laid out hotel gardens in the country.

Below the hotel an indigenous aloe garden flows into orchards of macadamia trees. Linking onto one of the farm walks, a selection from one of South Africa's best-known clivia collections, The McNeil Collection, has been planted. This captivating garden borders a small stream, canopied by grand, indigenous trees. Maps of marked walking paths are available at Reception – take a leisurely stroll or a brisk hike on one of the many routes – from 30 minutes to 3 hours.

Secluded spots along the way provide the perfect setting for daydreaming, bird watching or mountain gazing and for added enjoyment, simple or sumptuous picnic basket lunches may be taken and enjoyed on the outing.

Coach House tailor-make your conference to suit your every need whether it is a day package for 10 people or a 5-day, or a 100-delegate conference.
