Location
Sanssouci Estate is a small private sugar
estate located in the Ifafa Hills on the Kwazulu-Natal south coast overlooking
the Indian Ocean. The estate is approximately 7 Km's off the N2 freeway &
9 Km's from the beach. Durban international airport is 50 minutes away and Scottburgh
20 minutes.
The house is set in tranquil surroundings
and the extensive semi-tropical gardens abound with a large variety of bird life,
including peacocks & guinea fowl. Domestic geese, ducks & chickens are
also kept. The herb garden adjacent to the house is well worth a visit & a
swimming pool with a shaded rest area is also available to guests.
Activities
There are 4 golf courses within a 30 minute car drive radius
and this includes the prestigious Selborne Country Club.
Bass fishing, tour of litchi, banana & macadamia plantations
on a neighbouring estate (5 minutes away)
All other sports, including scuba diving on the Aliwal shoal,
within a 30 minute car drive radius.
Accommodation
Please note that accommodation is currently restricted to the
following:
One self-catering rondavel
One B&B suite
One room only
The self-catering rondavel consists of a large family room
with double bed plus a futon double put u up couch, TV, fridge, dining table &
chairs, wardrobe & 2 occasional chairs. There is a fully equipped & attached
kitchenette with gas cooker, plus a shower room, hand basin & toilet.
Guests have their own barbeque area complete with picnic bench.
The rondavel sleeps a maximum of 4 (four persons only) however, 2 additional persons
can be accommodated in the room only, which is alongside the rondavel. The room
only consists of 2 single beds, shower & washbasin and an outside toilet.
