Indigo Bay Island Resort -Bazaruto Accomodation - Mozambique Accommodation

The Bazaruto Archipelago is a group of small islands situated approximately 40 kilometers off the coast of Mozambique. Bazaruto is the largest (approximately 37kms long and up to 7kms wide) and northern most of the five islands. Indigo Bay is situated +/- 600 kms north of Maputo on the western side of Bazaruto Island

The diverse ecosystems contained in the archipelago cater for a wide range of interests. The squeaky white beaches and protected reefs surrounding the Islands support a vast array of game fish, the endangered dugong, different species of turtles and dolphins, and seasonal humpback whales. The shallow, crystal clear waters with dazzling soft corals, starfish, anemones and a bewildering range of beautiful fish, extends to dive sites featuring an incredible variety of reef and game fish, different species of turtles, rays and sharks. Spectacular sportfishing for giant black marlin, sailfish and a variety of other gamefish.

Fauna and flora on the island abounds. Flamingoes on tidal flats; endemic butterflies, hundreds of bird species in wetland, savanna grassland and thicket. Freshwater lakes, home to many large crocodiles and in total contrast, the eastern strip is composed of huge bare and vegetated sand dunes.
