Jatinga Country Lodge, located on the outskirts of the picturesque
town of White River in Mpumalanga, South Africa is the perfect venue
for your special day.
Nestled in over 30 acres of magnificent gardens, the lodge's original
1920's homestead is the 'centrepiece' of a bygone era of colonial
elegance.
The lodge is home to a quaint open-sided chapel built on the banks of
the White River that flows through the property.
An elevated deck overlooking the river a little further along provides
the ideal place for guests to enjoy a pre- or post wedding drink.
Our versatile banqueting room lends itself to small or bigger groups
and has fold-away doors opening onto a private garden where guests can
enjoy the sounds and scents of the Lowveld evening.

8 seater rectangular wooden tables or 6 seater round tables for smaller

Jatinga offers guests ten Superior rooms and four Luxury suites, one
being our Honeymoon suite, two English Country suites and the fourth
our Colonial suite.
All our rooms are furnished in different styles, Victorian, Colonial,
Provencal, African Colonial, French and English Country.
Photographer and Videographer
We make use of a few private photographers, who will take photographs
as per your requirements and budget. For example bride getting ready,
ceremony, groups, bride & groom, 3 hours from bride's arrival and
including the guests at the tables.
Airport Transfers
We offer a complimentary shuttle service to and from the Kruger Mpumalanga
International Airport, which is 4 ½ km from the lodge. All transfers
to and from the KMI Airport must be booked a week in advance.
Bar and Beverages
We have an extensive wine list that includes excellent estate wines,
fine local sparkling wines and imported champagnes. Please discuss your
requirements and we will let you have the relevant wine lists. We offer
a full bar service.
Chapel and Minister
Our quaint chapel, next to the White River, is set with our standard
candles and décor. We can put you in touch with an inter-denominational
minister in the area. Witnesses should preferably be arranged by the
bridal party. Chairs and chair covers for the chapel must be hired in,
unless it is a small wedding.
Flowers
Flowers are a very personal requirement and many brides-to-be have their
own ideas on bridal bouquets, chapel arrangements, table arrangements,
corsages. A one-on-one meeting with our florist can be scheduled for
you to discuss all your requirements, candles, colours, preferences.
For those brides who live a long way away, we can send pictures to you
of previous wedding flowers or alternatively send us your pictures and
we can request the florist to quote. Suggestions are:
Hairdresser, Beauty Treatments
The above can be arranged with local therapists. Costs will be quoted
on specific requests.
Menus
Our wedding menus in price depending on your requirements. Vegetarian
meals can be arranged on request. Please note our kitchen is neither
Kosher nor Halaal. Prices may vary depending on the availability of
ingredients at the time of your wedding. We would like to set up a meeting
for you, with our chef, to discuss your menu.
Music
Should you require different options of live music, we can arrange this
and quote accordingly. Live music can be arranged for the chapel, however,
we do have the Wedding March on CD. The cut off time for music is 23h00
unless special arrangements have been made.
Pre-reception Snacks
A selection of 3 pre-reception snacks, for example bruschetta, spring
rolls, satay, mini quiches can be served after the chapel service.
Pre-reception Drinks
A choice of the following can be served with your pre-reception snacks
whilst your guests are waiting for you to have your photographs taken.
For example Sherry (medium cream), Pimms, Sparkling Wine.
Reception Venue
A dinner wedding lends itself well to candlelight especially in our
banqueting room.
This room has French doors along the length of one wall, that open up
onto a beautiful garden area, with a Pecan nut orchard in the distance.
Brazziers create a romantic ambience in the courtyard outside the banqueting
room.
This room can accommodate up to 120 guests
The following two options are also available:
A marquee can be set up in the gardens for a larger reception
Choose your own venue the Colonial style covered verandah, in the gardens
or on the wooden deck overlooking the White River.
It is our policy that the entire Lodge is booked out for your wedding.
Should our proposal not be acceptable, for whatever reason, please contact
us immediately so that we can perhaps look at a different option. We
value your business.
Table Decorations
I am sure you have an idea of what your wedding reception should look
like, however, I can send you a few photographs of table settings to
give you some ideas. Please be aware that the standard Jatinga table
setting is crisp white table cloths and napkins, white crockery, standard
cutlery, wooden chairs and wine glasses.
We can assist with long rectangular wooden tables (seating 8 people
each) or round tables (seating 6 people each) for weddings 50 people
and smaller. Should you wish us to hire in alternative crockery, cutlery,
glasses, table overlays, chair covers, etc we can obtain quotes for
you.
Wedding Dress
We can provide you with names and numbers of dressmakers in the Nelspruit
area.
Wedding Cake
Cakes again are a very personal decision, however I can send you a couple
of pictures of wedding cakes. Jatinga can assist with a Croquembouche
or other non-traditional options. Should you require the more traditional
fruit cake, we can make suggestions of cake decorators in the area.
