- Kruger National Park - Mpumalanga
-
Livingstone Trails has a pertmanent tented campsite
inside Kruger National Park. The camp is situated at Maroela camp
(close to Orpen Gate), which is in the center region of the Park,
that is arguably the best area to see a large variety of wildlife,
when in Kruger National Park.
Our camp is secluded from the rest of Maroela
camp, and erected along the fence line. There is a waterhole that
we can see from our camp, and we get regular visits from a variety
of wildlife, such as Buffalo, Elephant, Hyena, Genet, Honey badger,
Impala, Porcupine, African Civet, and a large variety of bird species.
DAY 1: Early morning we depart from Johannesburg
and Pretoria heading towards the picturesque Mpumalanga, stopping
at the scenic sites such as the Blyde River Canyon, Bourke's Luck
Potholes, God's Window and Three Rondawels. This evening is spent
at a Safari Lodge just outside the Park where we enjoy a South African
braai and relax around the campfire experiencing African Culture (children
performing native dancing). Today breakfast and lunch is at own cost.
DAY 2: We depart for the world
renown Kruger National Park harbouring an unparalleled diversity of
wildlife!
The rest of the next two days are spent on game drives searching
for as many of the 147 mammals, 114 reptiles, 33 amphibians and 507
bird species as possible.
The next two evenings are spent at a campsite within
the Kruger National Park listening to the sounds of the African night.
DAY 3: Early morning we venture on
a 2-3 hour hiking trail inside the KRUGER NATIONAL PARK. This hiking
trail is accompanied by a Ranger from the Kruger National Park. You
will be spoor, animal tracking and will learn about the flora and
fauna in this magnificent park. After our hiking trail we drive to
our campsite where brunch will be served. The majority of the day
is spent on game drives searching for as many wildlife species as
possible in their natural habitat. We return to the camp at sunset
where you will go on a sunset/ night game drive to search for the
nocturnal animals that are avasive during the day time.
DAY 4: This is your last opportunity
to spot that animal that's been avoiding us the past two days since
it is our final game drive before returning to Johannesburg and Pretoria.
Lunch at own cost.
NB: On some departure dates we drive directly through to the Kruger
National Park and only drive through the scenic route on the last
day (depending on weather conditions)
