Accommodation - The Bay View has a warm atmosphere of friendliness and comfort which immediately makes you feel at home. This is hardly surprising because the hotel is imbued with the same unsoiled, relaxed character which has made Luderitz itself so popular with visitors.
The hotel offers 22 en suite double rooms with television, tea/coffee tray and telephone, all facing onto the courtyard or swimming pool. We also have a family unit - 2 inter-leading rooms with six bed and two bathrooms. We offer a same-day laundry service, a la carte restaurant, and an enclosed secure parking area. You can use your laptop in the rooms to surf the internet or check you email. Our rates include a hearty breakfast buffet.
You can also spend the day relaxing in the Bay View's sheltered courtyard around the pool, and sipping a good night drink in the private bar. Comfortable beds carry you through your dreams. We can accommodate 10 persons in our conference room and are busy upgrading for larger groups.German, Portuguese, English and Afrikaans as well as the local languages are spoken here
There's an abundance of crayfish, oysters and other fresh seafood on the menu, caught on the coastline. We can honestly say that we have the best coffee and espresso in Town, and our food is very highly praised.
Family run ensures good service at all times. We are situated in the main road opposite all the banks and shops.
There is something to see around every corner. The Namib Desert, it's sands spilling over into the streets. Old homes from a by-gone era, shipwrecks on the long white beaches, Kolmanskoppe - the ghost town, and many more. The museum across the street from the Hotel is a wealth of information about the Town's history. This area is a photographer's paradise and trips to photograph the wild horses can also be arranged.
The next day you can explore the surroundings - take a boat trip to the nearby bird sanctuary Island and view the heavy sided dolphins who are always keen to accompany the vessel. You can also charter a vessel for a fishing trip and explore the many bays along our unique coastline. We will book all your local excursions and our helpful reception can assist you with any information you may need.
