Built in harmony with nature under the African sun, Thaba
Phuti Safari Lodge is an exclusive private wildlife retreat , on the private
game farm Duikerbult, where body and soul are rejuvenated in luxurious surroundings.
Thaba Phuti Safari Lodge is situated in the North West Province,
just South of the Magaliesburg Mountain Range and the Town of Rustenburg.
It is easily accessible being only 80 minutes by road from Johannesburg,
and 90 minutes by road from Pretoria.
The Lodge’s exclusive seven rooms are beautifully
positioned to give you maximum luxury and scenic views of the African bushveld.
Each room with its own private deck, providing a unique view of the Magalies
Meander and overlooking the cliffs and waterhole, from where game can be
viewed in privacy and at leisure.
The rooms are decorated in colonial style with warm earth tones that characterize
comfort and peacefulness. Each room has an en-suite bathroom and a mini safe
for all your personal valuables. A fully stocked mini bar, hair dryer, telephone,
overhead fan and a direct dial telephone are available in each room.
The conference room at Thaba Phuti set a perfect scene for
stress-free decision-making. The conference facilities were awarded a 5 star
rating by the TGCSA. (Tourism Grading Council of South Africa)
The conference facility is equipped with ultra modern equipment
including:
Internet facilities, television, DVD/VCR combo, DSTV, ceiling mounted remote
projector compatible with standard laptops, big screen, audio facilities for
laptop, fax, printing facilities and a secretarial service. The conference
room has seating for 20 attendees and accommodation for 14 people sharing.
Our restaurant offers tasty South African gourmet dishes.
A daily different a la carte menu is confirmation of the individual attention
to each guest’s needs.
The dining room is overlooking the rocky cliffs, providing
you with the opportunity to enjoy your meal while observing the view.
With the selection of vintage wines in our wine cellar,
you are guaranteed to find the perfect cultivars to accompany your meal.
An exquisite South-African dining experience is best ended in our lounge
area. The crackling fireplace makes for a rich atmosphere where the warmest
conversations are sure to flow. With the lounge area you’ll find the
Phuti bar, a stylish cocktail bar and entertainment area, where anything
from coffee to cocktails can be enjoyed.
Boma and Sport Bar Area
An excellent way to wind-down, the Rhino bar provides the
opportunity to meet other guests and reminisce about the day’s happenings.
The Rhino bar further provides for exciting Satellite sport television. Delicious
boma suppers bring guests together around a roaring campfire as the stars
and the sounds of the night surround you.
Game viewing
A gentle morning stroll amongst the game will relax
your senses, or for the more energetic, guided bush walks can be arranged.
Game
drives provide guests with the opportunity to
view the game from an open vehicle.
Game viewing from horseback is a wonderful experience,
but because of the rocky terrain, only for experienced riders.
Bird watchers can enjoy the abundance of birds in the natural bush or
even from the deck at the Lodge.
The thrill of an early morning hot air balloon trip provides
extreme scenery with photographic opportunities. Please inform us in advance
if you plan to take part in this activity.
SPORTING ACTIVITIES
Clay pigeon shooting is quite a noisy, but competitive
affair and is enjoyed out of hearing distance from the lodge
.Silhouette shooting is for the perfectionist
showing his skill, or for the beginner who wants to learn the art of
aiming and shooting exact.
Black powder gun target shooting reminds of
the colonial times gone by.
Freshwater Fishing (summer months) . Bass, Carp and
Kurper are caught frequently in our well-stocked dams. Fishing gear and
bait will be provided.
For the adrenaline seeker, a professional mountaineer oversees abseiling from
a 50m vertical drop. Please inform us in advance if you plan to take part
in this activity.
Quad bike or 4x4 course is available on a neighboring farm.
Pool
If you want some peace and quietness, spend an undisturbed
day on the pool deck, overlooking the lush grasslands that meet up with the
rocky outcrops of the Magalies meander. You can leisure around the pool,
while you sit back and enjoy the sights, smells and sounds of the African
bush.
The pool deck is the perfect place to unwind while sipping
a tequila sunrise and watching the African sunset.
