- Waterberg -Limpopo Province - Elevated over the Tshwene Valley Gorge, secluded in the remarkable Welgevonden Private Game Reserve lies an unparalleled slice of the true African experience – Wooded Peaks Game Lodge. Wooded Peaks Game Lodge is situated only 2.5 hours from Johannesburg in the malaria free Waterberg area. This Five Star lodge was designed not to disturb and to melt away into the environment. With extensive use of wood, thatch, rock and the natural environment, an intimate lodge was created. The elevated teak walkways lead guests from one intimate corner of this stunning lodge to another. With us only accommodating a maximum of ten guests you are assured of the best personal service at all times from our well-trained and extremely friendly staff.
Wooded Peaks Game Lodge can accommodate two guests in each of the five luxury en-suite chalets. Each very comfortable and well-appointed chalet is built in log cabin style, which is well insulated and is cool in summer and warm in winter. Cosy fireplaces and overhead fans are available in the chalets.
Each chalet has its own private patio overlooking the valley, as well as twin basins, corner bath, inside and outside showers and all the amenities normally found in luxury five star accommodation. Guests have the choice of a queen sized bed or two single beds, dressed in the finest quality linen.
At Wooded Peaks Game Lodge we are so proud of our kitchen that we allow guests to view meals being freshly prepared from the lodge patio at all times.
The glorious days can be spent lazing around the pool or on the patio sipping cocktails, whilst keeping an eye on the watering hole. Indulge in a book from our well-appointed library and relax in the calmness of our lounge.
For the fitness fanatics we have a fully equipped gym. The games room will provide the setting for endless challenges on the pool table, dart board or various board games. Quench your hot African thirst with a visit to our wine cellar or bar. We have over 1 000 bottles of the best South African wines and a wide variety of both local and imported liquor available. For the business executives who would like to share business with pleasure, Wooded Peaks Game Lodge have a fully equipped conference room and can arrange the game drives and meals to suit their requirements.
Two game drives and an optional bush walk are conducted daily by our FGASA accredited guide. Enjoy a breakfast/brunch after the morning drive and high tea before the afternoon drive departs.
On your return to the lodge a sumptuous four-course dinner awaits you in the boma under the stars.
There are over 16 different species of Antelope on the Wooded Peaks Game Lodge. There are two historic sites with Bushman paintings on the Reserve. The Reserve is Home to the Big Five, wild dog, over 250 different bird species a host of other animals and an interesting variety of fauna and flora. It is a huge scenic wilderness of 40,000 hectares, which provides sanctuary for all its inhabitants. Wooded Peaks Game Lodge rates are R1995 per person per night sharing, valid until 31/12/2006 and our winter rates are R1650 per person per night sharing valid for stays during May, June & July only. Our rates include the following: accommodation, all meals, two game drives a day, optional daily bush walk, snacks & refreshments on drives, tea/coffee all day, use of all facilities and VAT. A single supplement of R850 a night applies.
