Our vision is a world without animal suffering. We view ourselves as the advocate and champion of those who have no voice of their own, namely animals. The common foundation for this is the respect for all forms of life and the deep conviction that every organism has a right to be treated with consideration and to live a life with dignity that complies with its needs. Animals are sentient creatures and therefore subjectively perceive the world; we as humans bear responsibility for them.

For us, the goals of animal protection, human safety and nature conservation are inseparably linked. We therefore feel a solidarity with all those who use peaceful and legal means to achieve a respectful coexistence with one another and with the environment. We as an animal protection organisation seek to contribute our share to achieving this goal.

Home to several pride of lions, two leopards, a Bengal tiger and other wild cats, LIONSROCK is a shining example of the sorely needed sanctuaries in South Africa. Since the resident Big Cats were born and raised in captivity, they are being kept in family groups in spacious and enriched environments.

There are five different predator species on the farm including Bengal Tiger, Caracal, Leopard, Lions and Wild Dogs, accommodated in high standard enclosures all adapted to ensure the safety of both humans and animals. These predators were rescued from bad conditions an are the first inhabitants of LIONSROCK Big Cat Sanctury. They can not be returned to the wild as they were bred in captivity and therefore we have insured that the new habitat is as closed to nature as possible.

Your guide will provide you with informative and educational information about the wildlife in general and specific the predators.
