Our well-established Edwardian guest house is decorated with antique furniture and heirlooms from the Krige family, who were the original owners of the house and who have spread their roots in Stellenbosch for 9 generations. We will Endeavour to make you feel at home immediately and enjoy assisting you in your planning so that you get the very best out of your journey.
We have become wheel chair friendly and this will enable us to accommodate a big group of paraplegic athletes from Sweden in the coming year.
Refreshments are served, informative maps and notes are prepared and reservations are made for guests who are new to Stellenbosch, those who return to explore more extensively, and also for those who have become friends.On your pre-arrival request, we will arrange for you to be collected at the airport and brought right to our doorstep. On the day when you need it, a rented car will be delivered to the guesthouse.
Caledon Villa offers 15 individually decorated en suite rooms with a variety of styles and comforts. These range from a standard room to a family room or luxury suite. Guests can choose to stay on a bed and breakfast basis, or select a self catering unit with all amenities. Our approach is flexible and where possible, we will try to meet any special accommodation requirements.

All rooms are en suite and fall into six different categories ( suite, luxury, honeymoon, family, standard and self-catering apartment ), each with it's own facilities.
Farao Suite:
Farao is derived from the papyruses used as interior decoration.
Our Farao suite has the space and feel of a loft apartment with separate bedroom and living room. In addition to standard fittings, the suite offers:

Honeymoon Suite:
This is the romantic option for those who enjoy indulging in something different.
A unique feature in our NOUVEAU room is its unusual round and turning bed! Apart from the standard facilities, it has extra romantic appeal : a spa bath as well as a fireplace. Self-Catering Apartment

This up-market apartment is located in the historic heart of Stellenbocsh (c/o Church and Andringa Street) less than 10 minutes walking distance from Caledon Villa.
Combine the infrastructure of the guesthouse with independent facilities and comfort! Be on your own but make use of all our services - office support, our garden and pool area. The apartment comprises of :

A hearty hot breakfast and cold buffet is served. Choose your table inside the breakfast room or move outside onto the terrace. Tables are usually laid for two, but for groups there is a large table. Alternatively, smaller tables are put together, because this is where some fascinating conversations usually start.
The coffee pot is refilled time and again whilst mutual topics are discovered. It is especially at breakfast time that you will find Johan exchanging ideas with his guests and helping them plan their day.For those guests who prefer self catering accommodation, there are 8 units with a kitchenette and the necessary facilities. On this basis room service will be tendered twice per week.
If these guests would like to enjoy breakfast with us, they would be most welcome to arrange thus with us!The spacious family lounge in Caledon Villa is ideally suited for presentations, meetings, workshops and conferences. The venue has a very special ambience, a fire-place, yellow-wood table and chairs and can be isolated from the ordinary guest house activities.
Groups not exceeding 10 persons can be provided for. Breakfast, lunch and or tea time will be prepared and served on the terrace overlooking the garden area. Rates to be negotiated.
Apart from the formal library, there is also an informal collection of books mostly donated by leaving guests. All of these are available to those that wish to do some lighter reading during the day or evening.

Start your day with a hearty breakfast on the terrace, overlooking the large swimming pool and garden with the high steeple of the historic church as background.
During a lazy afternoon or after a busy day, many of our guests enjoy a sundowner in the garden gazebo. Some also opt to do their own braai in the garden, rather than having a meal at a restaurant in town. Our secluded garden will offer you true tranquility right in the centre of town.
Children are welcome by arrangement - and Vlekkie the Jack Russell will be their host!
The 9 x 5m large pool provides cool relief during the hot summer months. It is surrounded by sunny as well as shady patches. The salt water pool ensures a healthy and bright conduction of the filtered water.
