Wake up to the sound of breaking surf and seagull’s cry for a minute’s stroll past the nature reserve that surrounds the Milkwood Manor on two sides, to Lookout Beach, Plettenberg Bay, so named for its spectacular mountain views, and to the adjacent vast tidal-lagoon’s wetlands, a veritable bird sanctuary.

One may enjoy exhilarating walks along the pristine seashore or choose to roam the wetlands area alongside the lagoon, which teems with an amazing variety of birdlife.
The river may be navigated by motor boat or further explored by canoe through fascinating gorges towering amidst indigenous forests. Bay cruises are an added attraction, especially when encountering whales and dolphins. Colonies of seals may be viewed from close up.
