- Camps Bay Accommodatiion - Cape Town Accommodation Simon's Town Quayside Hotel is a small, elegant hotel,
overlooking the picturesque False Bay yacht basin, in one of the most
peaceful destinations in the Cape Peninsula.
A mere 40 minutes from Cape Town City, and situated at the heart of the Cape Point Route, Simon's Town is steeped in history and naval tradition, boasting many unspoiled sandy bathing beaches and unique flora and bird life. The Hotel is part of the Quayside Waterfront Development, which incorporates Bertha's Restaurant and a number of exclusive shops. We are also situated close enough for a pleasant walk to the Boulders Beach Penguin Colony and a ten minute drive from the Cape Point Nature Reserve. Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens and the historical wine farm at Groot Constantia are also a twenty minute drive away.
The Simon's Town Quayside Hotel comprises 26 en-suite bedrooms, 24 of which have twin beds and 2 with queen sized beds. All are equipped with telephone, minibar, safety deposit box and remote colour T.V. (with M-Net, Supersport and Movie Magic). 21 of the 26 rooms have a breathtaking view of False Bay and the Simon's Town Yacht Basin; the remaining 5 overlook the well-known historical mile of Simons Town, framed by the majestic Simon's Kloof Mountains. The hotel has 2 comfortably furnished sitting rooms and a 24-hour reception service.
We also offer two superb conference centres - the main centre (Drakensberg Room) catering for groups of up to 60 delegates with state of the art facilities and the additional advantage of two adjoining breakaway rooms. The second facility (Outeniqua Room) caters for smaller groups of up to 20 delegates who seek an upmarket yet private venue. With an adjoining lounge for delegate use only and magnificent sea views, this venue is highly popular with the exclusive corporate market. Both venues are fully air-conditioned. Simon's Town and its surrounding area are ideal for team-building exercises and a variety of unique activities such as "Japanese kite-fighting" and "Amazing Race" type adventures are available for delegates to enjoy whilst attending a conference.
Simon's Town is ideally situated for easy access to local attractions, being a short drive from Cape Point, a forty minute drive to the wine routes and a spectacular train journey to Cape Town. Established in 1743 as a port, Simon's Town was taken over by the Royal Navy in 1814, under whose control it remained until finally being handed over to the South African Navy in 1957. The Simon's Town Museum has displays on the early history of the town, and is open to visitors daily except Sunday.
