from Cape Town you will find Rijks Country Lodge, set on the outskirts of the
historic & picturesque
Tulbagh Village.
Rijk’s Country Lodge is set in the vineyards of the
award winning wine estate, Rijk’s Private Cellar in the shadows of
the spectacular Winterhoek & Witzenberg mountains, the 2 nd highest peaks
in the Cape. The manor house overlooks a picturesque lake, vineyards and
faces these huge mountains.
The town was named after Rijk Tulbagh, governor of the Cape
from 1751 to 1771. Steeped in history, the beautiful Church street has 32
National Monuments, more than any other street in South Africa .

Rijks Country Lodge offers 12 spacious luxury rooms all with en suite
bathrooms and 3 self-catering cottages comprising of 2 bedrooms each.
All rooms are tastefully decorated to make your stay a memorable one. Single,
double and family options are also available and rooms are equipped with:

Rijk’s Country Lodge offers fine Country style cuisine. Fresh
ingredients, freshly cooked………..enjoy the mix
of country flavours prepared just the way you like it. Our restaurant
is open from 7.30am to 10.00pm each night for Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.
A special is our Sunday lunch Spit Braai – phone us direct for
the best Spit in the Cape on 023 230 1006.
Guests are welcome to sit in or read in the lounge and reading room located
in the main manor house.
Guests are welcome to sit under the vines on the outside terrace and enjoy
the Tulbagh Valley wines and the unbeatable views of the lake and mountains.
Both Lunch and Dinner are served outside in summer. This is an ideal location
for Weddings.
Guests can taste the award winning wines of Rijk’s Private Cellar on
most days of the week from 10.00am to 4.00pm and can also purchase wines direct
from the Cellar.
Large swimming pool and Thatch Boma. BBQ or Braai facilities,
wood can be purchased from the hotel as can meat if required. Pub & Games
room: We have friendly pub where guests can sit and chat, taste wine or just
relax. Adjacent to the pub is a full games room with darts and pool table
available.
There are literally hundreds of types birds on the farm
for the avid bird watcher or casual observer
There are a number of Dams and rivers on the farm where guests can fish
for Bass, Carp and Trout just up the road.
We have visitors from all over the world visiting us to
photograph the surrounding Witzenberg and Winterhoek mountains – the
sunsets are to be seen to believed.
There are a number of walking trails and hiking trails in the area, from the
casual walker to the serious hiker. Please contact us for further information
Rijk’s Country Lodge offers a spectacular wedding
venue for the special couple. We can host weddings up to 150 people with
packages to suite most budgets. The prices range from R130.00 per person
+ rental of whole property.
We also offer special accommodation packages for guests
wishing to stay over for the night. Our Honeymoon Suite is beautifully decorated
for that special romantic feel. We host many weddings and as such have the
required expertise and experience for that ‘special day’.
Our dedicated Conference Venue can comfortably seat 65 in School Room style,
40 in U-shape & 100 in Cinema style. Breakaway rooms are available. Open
fire & other heating is available with Air-conditioning for the summer
along with ceiling fans if required.
The following equipment is available: Data projector, white boards, pens, flip
chats, overhead projector, TV, video, music etc. Daily conference rates include:
All teas/coffees, confectionary, lunch, drinks for conference rooms, sweets,
hire of room including use of all equipment.
Rijk’s offers exclusive use of the venue if conferences are booked for
groups of 10 or more people. That way you ‘own’ the venue for your
team only – no outside influences at all. Rates vary on the time of the
year and demand.
