Tarn Country House is a family owned and managed 100 acre property.

Set amidst indigenous forest, majestic mountains and spectacular beaches nearby, Tarn offers a variety of scenic and cultural attractions that are no more than 30 minutes in either direction.

Tarn Country House is situated within the Whiskey Creek Nature Reserve in the heart of the Garden Route, where the Tsitsikamma and Outeniqua Mountains overlap and meet the Indian Ocean. You can find us between Plettenberg Bay and Natures Valley, 2km from spectacular coastline and sandy beaches.


Tarn Country House offers a choice of 9 charmingly decorated, spacious bedrooms either as
twin - bedded or double rooms. All bedrooms are en-suite, with both bath and shower, and each room has it's own private entrance.

Delicious breakfasts are served in the dining room or on the patio overlooking magnificent scenery. For the health conscious, we can have ensure that our main menu includes organically grown salads and vegetables and free range poultry.

The Garden Route's mild climate allows for many diverse outdoor activities throughout the year.

Take a plunge into crisp ocean water, amble along beautiful white sandy beaches, hike or mountain bike in indigenous forests, fish, or enjoy whale watching, horse riding, bird watching, scuba diving. Boat trips are also available for those who want to explore the Keurboom's River and bird sanctuary.

There is a comfortable lounge where you can read in front of the log fire or enjoy satellite television.

Our dedicated staff will gladly arrange an activities schedule for you during you stay at Tarn.
