Manor House
The Manor House situated on the Vald 'Or Estate consists of a country kitchen, an elegant and cozy dining area, a warm and inviting lounge and TV room with satellite television as well as a sunny breakfast area where you can enjoy breakfast indoors or under the shady trees.
The Manor House has four bedrooms consisting of one deluxe room with full bathroom, two deluxe rooms with shower bathrooms, and one standard room with shower bathroom.
The Manor House bedrooms each have their own private patio and each has a different view of the surrounding mountains. The rooms are equipped with tea/coffee making facilities, televisions, under-floor heating and air conditioners, this is to ensure your comfort throughout the year.
The Manor House is available as a self-catering unit per day, making it ideal for golf tours and families. The barbecue area may be used by all guests.
Barn House
The Barn House can be used as guest house accommodation as well as self-catering accommodation. The Barn House has a sunny breakfast room and a large entertainment / bar area stretching onto a wide patio facing the pool area. Wireless hot spot available.
The Barn House offers four deluxe bedrooms comprising of two family suites on the ground floor, and two gallery rooms on the first floor.
The Barn House’s deluxe family suite has full bathrooms, lounges, sleeper couches (children under 12 stay free) and private patios. Upstairs the luxury gallery rooms each have their own luxurious bathroom and share a sitting room and balcony for their own exclusive use.
All Barn House bedrooms have magnificent views of the swimming pool, garden, dams, and surrounding mountains. Each has its own tea/coffee making facility, television, mini-bar, under floor heating and air conditioner to ensure your comfort throughout the year.
Attached to the Barn House is a deluxe self-catering suite with 2 bedrooms (sleeps 4), a shower and a full luxurious bathroom to share, a fully-fitted open plan kitchen/dining/lounge area, a private patio on two sides and magnificent views of the beautiful gardens surrounding the pool area and ornamental dams as well as the surrounding mountains.
To ensure your comfort throughout the year the villa has under floor heating and air conditioners.
A barbecue area is specifically reserved for this unit.
Self-Catering Suites
Val D’ Or Estate has three luxury Self-catering Suites. Two of these self catering units have one bedroom, a shower bathroom and a fully fitted open-plan kitchen/dining/lounge area with a sleeper couch, suitable for children under 12 years, a lovely patio and views of the beautiful gardens, pool area and ornamental dams as well as the magnificent mountains.
The third self catering unit has two en-suite bedrooms, one with a shower bathroom and one with a full bathroom. It has a fully-fitted open plan kitchen/dining/lounge area, two patios (one completely private) and magnificent views of the beautiful gardens surrounding the pool area and ornamental dams as well as the surrounding mountains.

We offer our Manor House as the ideal luxury accommodation venue for golfing tours. It consists of 4 luxury en-suite bedrooms (twin or king size beds), a spacious lounge, TV room, dining room and farm house kitchen. The Manor House can be rented on a Self-catering basis or on a Bed and Breakfast basis. Dinners are optional or can be taken at one of the many culinary gems in the Valley. Ideal for families and friends traveling together as well as golfing tours!

Franschhoek Heritage & Culture
Take a tour of Mooiwater township or Pniel, the first town of the free slaves. Visit the Huguenot Memorial Museum for a history lesson on the Franschhoek settlers. Professor Rust will educate you on the heritage and the flora of the valley. For some French-Huguenot architecture, visit the Boschendal Manor (1685), Burgundy Bourgogne farm or the thatched Dutch Reformed Church (1847).
David Walters at Roubaix House Gallery showcases some of the best South African art and promotes local artists. Watch artist David Walters himself throw clay. Make your own Shona sculpture at the Munhutapa Gallery at Boschendal.
Franschhoek Shops
The village centre boasts an array of art shops, galleries and specialist stores trading items such as Cape furniture, African and tribal artifacts, cottage furniture and scientific instruments, amongst others.
Watch carpet weavers at work on hand-knotted carpets at Kei Carpets. The street market is open on Saturdays and the ‘Kuns Ronvaart', an arts & crafts and antiques route around the village, is another interesting alternative.

This is a day’s trip and really worth the visit. On your way there take the coastal route from Gordon’s Bay and return over the Franschhoek pass from Villiersdorp. The scenery there and back is worth the trip and Hermanus is a beautiful town.
It is also known as one of the best spots in the world for whale-watching - the months of August to September are the best time.
