Come and experience whales, dolphins, seals and other marine life first hand in one of South Africa’s most elegant coastal towns on the Garden Route. Home to jet setters and the rich and famous, Plettenberg Bay, or ‘Plett’ as it is known locally, is the ‘jewel in the South African tourism’s crown’. We offer 24 beautiful thatched roofed rooms, ethnic-style décor and art work and your own bay view terrace from which to see the magnificent ocean that washes our coastline.

A superb gourmet dining experience awaits the entire family at the Whales Restaurant with excellent service, gracious hospitality and a fusion of international and traditional cuisine. A fusion of international and traditional cuisine with a choice of a la carte or buffet menus. The large sundeck with expansive ocean views offers an alternative, casual dining experience and is an ideal venue to enjoy cocktails and sundowners. A gourmet dining experience with cuisine for the entire family. Additional facilities include a Boardroom incorporating a business centre with internet access as well as a choice of two lounges and a unique intimate bar. The main conference facility is situated a short 300m drive away at Butterfly World. We have recently opened a Hydro Health and Wellness & Beauty Salon at WhaleSong Hotel & Hydro and offer the following facilities: Whalesong Hydro Health specialises in Naturopathic Therapies offering quality health and wellness treatments and supporting products and services with regards to changing lifestyles and preventative health measures. Treatments include various massages, reflexology, detoxification, homoeopathy, colon hydrotherapy, herbalism, kinesiology and acupuncture. In addition, hydro spa and steam treatments including body wraps are also available. The Centre also has an organic shop and juice bar and hosts workshops, classes and demonstrations. The Wellness & Beauty Salon offers rejuvenator facials, laser treatments, hot stone therapy, aromatherapy massages, manicures, pedicures and a host of other specialised beauty treatments.
We offer stretches of pristine, sandy beaches and ocean safaris that get you close to whales, dolphins and seals. South Africa is graced by visiting whales in winter and spring that call on our shores whilst calving; join us for whale watching from your bay view terrace. Swim with dolphins – South Africans and visitors alike are delighted in Plett or ‘Bitou’ as it is now called, by customary, unsolicited visits from dolphins that join bathers for a swim.
