For a real “African Experience”,
Taita Falcon Lodge is the place to stay. Perched above Rapid 17 on the very edge
of the Batoka Gorge, Taita Falcon offers superb views of the raging Zambezi waters
200m below. Taita Falcon Lodge offers its guests the height of luxury set amidst
the natural bush environment of the Batoka Gorge.
A unique departure from the typical hotel
style, the Lodge’s focus is on quality personal service, uncompromising
comfort and providing guests with an unforgettable African experience. Owner managed,
the flexibility of your hosts and their willingness to accommodate the wishes
of each individual guest, ensures a special home-from-home experience for every
guest. Our resident Vereaux (Black) Eagles can be envied as they soar by at eye
level, along with a host of other raptors regularly sighted at the Lodge.
Sit back, relax, and enjoy the grandeur
of the Zambezi and the African bush from a different point of view! The setting
is as natural as the furnishings and decor, which have been crafted by local tribesmen
from indigenous materials. The gardens are a colourful blend of indigenous plants
and are a bird watcher’s paradise with over 210 birds identified including,
of course, the rare Taita Falcon.
The spacious en-suite chalets afford both
privacy and comfort. The reed walls of the chalet at ¾ height are open
to the gentle breezes that blow over the gorge, but can be raised to full height
if required.
There are mosquito nets on all the beds
and mosquito coils are used in the evenings. During the cooler months, hot water
bottles provide cosy warmth. Each chalet is individually prepared as per the requirement
of the guests. Chalets can be made as single, double, twin or family rooms.
Located away from the hustle and bustle
of the tourist throng, Taita Falcon Lodge is the perfect place to enjoy all the
excitement and action of the Victoria Falls whilst retaining the essential peace
and tranquility of a remote African Lodge in the wildest of settings.
