Trekking to find the Mountain Gorillas has to be one of the most
memorable experiences Africa has to offer. There are truly few
words to express the sensation of sitting just meters away from
these awesome creatures. The Mountain Gorilla is one of the most
endangered species in the world and it is thought that there are
only approximately 700 left!
Your incredible adventure starts in Uganda. Our first night is
spent in a hotel in Entebbe, with some time to relax and unwind
to the African way of life. On day two, we head west towards either
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest (Uganda) or to Parc National des Volcans
Rwanda Gorilla Sanctuary, depending on where permits for the Gorilla
trekking are held. Only about 700 mountain gorillas survive today
in the forest ecosystems of central Africa.

Despite the beauty of the jungle and mountain
scenery, it’s the interaction with the mountain gorillas
that will be undoubtedly the highlight of your tour. You’ll
be introduced to your experienced local guides and trackers who
will give a safety briefing before heading into the forest. It
is a truly humbling and often emotional experience to be in the
presence of these great apes, watching them forage for food and
go about their daily lives. This personal encounter is arguably
the most sensational wildlife experience of them all!

Next we head for the town of Kabale in the Ugandan
Highlands on day four. The area is often referred to as ‘the
Switzerland of Africa’, due to its mountainous terrain and
lush vegetation. We’ll continue on to Entebbe on day five,
stopping at rural curio markets and the royal drum makers at Mpigi
en route. Our journey ends after visiting Ngamba Island Chimpanzee
Reserve on Lake Victoria, home to orphaned and rescued Chimpanzees.
This tour will leave you with unforgettable memories.
