Walker Bay Adventures is an eco based Adventure Company owned and run
by Kobus and Vanessa Van Zyl. It is our mission to enable tourists the
opportunity to experience Hermanus through our activities up close and
personal!
Sea Kayak Africa's only Whale sanctuary on a stable kayak in the company
of one of our qualified guides. The trip, kayaks and guides enable the
most inexperienced paddler to enjoy this unique experience. After a
thorough briefing on kayaking techniques & safety you shall be guided
from the historical old harbour toward the new harbour, within the Walker
Bay Whale Sanctuary. We operate every day weather permitting. Duration
2 hrs. Minimum age 14. No experience necessary. Possible sightings of
Whales, seals, dolphins, sea birds and occasionally an elusive otter.
An experience unique to Hermanus!
Enjoy the Klein River Lagoon on one of our catered cruises. The Lagoon
is located 5 km out side of Hermanus central and is bordered by the
Klein River Mountains and Walker Bay Nature reserve. It boasts 130 different
bird species, magical sunsets and a variety of fish for the recreational
fisherman.
Sunset cruises available daily, braai, breakfast and lunch cruises available
for group bookings.
Enjoy a real outdoor adventure and explore the untouched lagoon and
river systems. A qualified guide shall take you for a full day trip
from the river up into the lagoon inclusive of picnic lunch, and drinks.
Canoe hire is also available for those who would prefer to explore the
lagoon independently.
Abseil from the cliffs of Hermanus with the waves and whales of Walker
Bay as your background. This 20-meter abseil is ideal for all adventure
seekers, irrespective of experience. Come and join our professional
guides and take a step outside your comfort zone.
For an ocean experience of a lifetime join Aidan on his 35-foot catamaran
Shibumbi for a sailing trip in Walker Bay.
Shibumbi is licensed to carry 10 passengers and has all necessary
safety equipment as demanded by SAMA (South African Marine Association).
The round trip from the New Harbour is +- 2 hrs
Possible sightings of Dolphins, penguins, seals, whales and bird life.
